End of an Era: Downtown Orlando’s Church Street Entertainment Venues Close Their Doors

The iconic downtown Orlando nightlife scene has taken a hit as multiple clubs owned by Church Street Entertainment have officially closed their doors, according to three sources close to the situation. These sources, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the news.

The affected venues include Chillers, Irish Shannon’s, Cahoots, High Tide, and Ember. Of these, four line West Church Street, while Ember is located on Central Boulevard. Sources also shared that Ember’s final day of operation was Nov. 25, and as of Dec. 4, all the venues appeared to be shuttered.

Attempts to reach Church Street Entertainment’s owners, Dirk Farrow and Doug Taylor, for comment were unsuccessful before publication. Interestingly, their company, Downtown Entertainment LLC, still holds an active business license, according to state records.

Records from the county show that Farrow and Taylor are listed among the property owners of 33 W. Church St., where Chillers, Irish Shannon’s, Cahoots, and High Tide are located. Meanwhile, Ember’s location at 42 W. Central Blvd. is owned by a separate landlord.
